Thanks to a generous grant from the Marshall University College of Science and West Virginia Science Adventures two half scholarships, or one full scholarship, will be available for each camp based on financial need.

If applying for scholarships to more than 1 camp, please give us a priority list (also whether you would you rather receive 2 half scholarships or 1 full scholarship). We will offer them first come, first served until the May 15 deadline with every student only getting one full scholarship camp (or 2 half scholarship camps) to start with. If other scholarship slots are available, students can potentially get more than 1 after everyone that has applied has received some support.

To be eligible:  Your child must be eligible for reduced lunch at school. If you are at a school where everyone gets reduced lunch, home schooled or at a school without a reduced lunch program you must meet the following criteria:

You must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is at or below the following amounts:

Household Size* Maximum Income Level (Per Year)
1 $21,775
2 $29,471
3 $37,167
4 $44,863
5 $52,559
6 $60,255
7 $67,951
8 $75,647

*For households with more than eight people, add $7,696 per additional person.

Documentation:  Include with your registration material either a letter from your child’s school on school letter head saying that they are financially eligible for school lunch or a copy of your 2015 (or 2016 if available) taxes. You can include a letter if there are special situations you want us to consider.

To apply: To be considered for a scholarship please mail (or email) a copy of the registration form with the top 3 camps ranked that your child is interested in attending. Also please be sure to indicate if you are interested in a full scholarship, half scholarship or whichever is available.

Deadlines: Scholarship Requests received with a postmark from May 15 or before will be prioritized so people can plan their summer accordingly. Any remaining scholarships will be posted again on May 31st after we have awarded the early registrants.
